BARTONS' NEW ACCREDITATION FOR LENDING SERVICES

Bartons Financial Services was recently successful in achieving Australian credit registration, under the new National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009. This act, effective 1 July 2009, lifts the bar on what has until now been a relatively unregulated market in lending services. It requires those providing advice in this area to carefully consider the appropriateness and affordability of new borrowings that clients might be contemplating. This is a natural extension of our ethos of providing professional financial advice to the highest possible standards. We expect to see rationalization of loan and mortgage brokers as these new standards impact on those unwilling or unable to meet the new requirements.

PRESS RELEASE - NEW DIRECTOR APPOINTED
Bartons Chartered Accountants and Wealth Advisors is delighted to announce the appointment of Adam McCann as a director of the firm effective 1 January 2010.
McCann, a Certified Financial Planner with over 20 years experience specialises in risk insurances, lending and other retirement planning advice. He has worked extensively with medical and other professionals, and brings a substantial existing practice to Bartons together with 2 staff members. He joins Stuart Brown as the second full time director in Bartons Financial Services Pty Ltd, the firm's investment and financial planning arm.
Adam said he is looking forward to joining Bartons, which focuses on an integrated approach to clients' accounting, business and financial planning needs.
"Adam's appointment as our fifth director adds further breadth and depth to our offering," said Managing Director Chris Waples. It follows the appointment of Chartered Accountant John O'Connell in July 2009 as a business advisory and taxation director.
